Our Beloved Church Family,

Ashley, Braylon and I would like to thank you for the wonderful welcome that you have given us over the past few weeks.  When we moved to Dubuque for Seminary, we were scared, and excited, and everything in between.  We held a verse close to our heart while we were there: Jeremiah 29:11 "For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope."  It has been a long process for all of us; in which we were scared, eventually excited, and filled with everything in between.  As we are settling in here in Collinsville, we think back to that verse and know that we are exactly where God has called us.  We cannot begin to fully express our gratitude for your assistance with moving, getting settled, and beginning our ministry together and especially for the love gift.  We are blessed to be part of your family and are looking forward to the plans that God has for us: to walk together in Christ, discerning in the Holy Spirit, and always trusting in God Almighyt.

In Loving Gratitude, The Young Family

Dear First Presbyterian Church,

Thank you for the beautiful azalea given in memory for our Aunt Julaine.  We have wonderful memories of attending your church for the Christmas eve service with our entire family.  If I remember correctly, we always sang "Joy to the World" while carrying candles exiting the church.  Beautiful memories that we have carried forward with our children at our church, as well.  Bless you all, Sarah Scott Shindala

Dear Friends at the 1st United Presbyterian Church,

Thanks ever so much for the plant with roses you sent my mother.  It was "Super".  To the Women of the church, Thanks for their kindness and preparation of the delicious meal served after my mother's funeral on the 14th of February.  The efforts were a nice tribute to my mother, Esther Magin, family & friends!  Thanks for everything, Mike Magin

To Presbyterian Women,

Your gift to St. Johns' Community Care enabled us to help two families who benefit from our Adult Day Program.  A couple in their 86's was using us two days each week to care for the husband, who is severely disabled after a full and active life.  He now has an extra day of help each week.  The second scholarship enabled a man, cared for by his mother, to attend a second day each week.  His mother had commented on how much he enjoys attending, but that they could not afford an additional day.  Thank you for enabling St. John's to further lighten the demands of caregiving for these two families.  Nancy Berry, Executive Director

To the Congregation,

Thanks to everyone who participated in the Empty Bowl event organized by Collinsville Women's Club and Collinsville Junior Service Club.  $9,100 was raised for CAMA's Helping Hands Ministry.

Jeff Young was introduced as our new Pastor.  He will be Ordained/Installed on Sunday, March 23, 2014, with a reception following provided by the Fellowship Committee.

A Transfer of Membership was requested by William and Susan Buchanan and removal of membership was requested by Jerie Artz.

The committees gave their reports.  There were requests for use of Westminster Hall on 5/1 and 5/3 by the Girl Scouts, 4/23 for a Trivia Night & Dinner and for a Blood Drive to be held on 5/19.

Sarah Ross has been giving a Moment for Mission to talk about donating to Kindercottage.

Jodee Kleb, Clerk of Session
